Filmworkshop "4 Days - 1 Film"

Who would like to make their own film together with professionals from the film industry?

In cooperation with Jugendhaus Mitte, Filmverband Südwest, and vhs Stuttgart, the association Haus für Film und Medien Stuttgart e.V. offers the film workshop 4 DAYS - 1 FILM for film fans and fans between the ages of 13 and 17.

With the support of film professionals, you will produce a short film in four days, from brainstorming to shooting and editing. Depending on your interests, you can visit one day, two, three, or every four days.

In the group you will come up with the plot for a film, set up the scenery, shoot the scenes and finally score and edit the material.

The program:

Mo. 31.10.: Day 1 – Story & Screenplay with Daniel Danzer (screenwriter and film teacher)

What is a story anyway - and how does "film" work? What makes a good film story? What is there to consider? We develop ideas together in the group and write a real script that we will implement in the next few days.

Mi. 02.11.: Day 2 – Camera & Technique with Sebastian Weitbrecht (cameraman)

Day two is all about camera, light, sound, and how it all comes together on location. Based on the script from day 1, we consider where and how the scenes should be shot. We set up the equipment and check whether everything works as we imagined.

Do. 03.11.: Day 3 – Acting & Shooting with Sandra Willmann (actress)

First we practice with Sandra Willmann how not to act in front of the camera. Sounds easy, but it is not. Then the shooting begins – with the clapperboard and everything that goes with it, until the scenes are “in the can”.

Fr. 04.11.: Day 4 – Editing & Post-Production with Sascha Seidel (film editor)

Sascha Seidel introduces the editing program and what needs to be considered when editing images and sound. Then the participants edit their film themselves. In addition, music has to be found, colors corrected, opening and closing credits created, sounds recorded before the film is finally finished.
