HFM presents the awarded works of the architectural competition

On the site of the Breuninger parking garage the House for Film and Media and, right behind, a “smart mobility hub” planned by E. Breuninger GmbH & Co. are being created as new, attractive, and innovative landmarks of urban development.

A total of 16 architectural offices took part in the single-phase, restricted, architectural competition, which was decided by a jury on February 2nd, 2022. The outstanding work by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects (DMAA), Vienna with Wenzel+Wenzel GmbH, Karlsruhe, was unanimously chosen as the winner from the field of participants.

Together with the building department and urban planning office of the state capital Stuttgart, we present the awarded works with plans and models as a window display near the future location:

  • 1st prize: DMAA, Vienna with Wenzel+Wenzel, Karlsruhe
  • 3rd prize: Bez+Kock Architekten Generalplaner GmbH, Stuttgart
  • 3rd prize: 2BA Architekten GmbH with Jo Carle Architekten PartGmbB and Buero BB, all Stuttgart
  • Recognition: Riehle+Assoziierte GmbH+Co. KG, Stuttgart with Carmody Groarke, London
  • Credit: haas cook zemmrich STUDIO 2050 Freie Architekten Part mbB, Stuttgart
