Moderation: Goggo Gensch

Guest: Dr. Annette Seemann (author, Weimar)

FRIDA was a passion project for lead actress Salma Hayek, which she fought hard to bring to fruition. After Frida Kahlo (Salma Hayek) was seriously injured in a bus accident in 1925 at the age of 18, she begins to paint obsessively. Using her brush as therapy, she confronts her psychological and physical pain while confined to bed. Just as she is starting to recover, she meets Diego Rivera (Alfred Molina) and asks him to honestly assess her talent. He is impressed by her skill - and her beauty. Soon they marry and become one of the most vibrant and exciting couples of the 20th century. Together, they conquer the art world. Their extraordinary love story, which survives bisexuality, polygamy, and a divorce, navigates through valleys and over mountains. It endures until Frida's death.
