Quo Vadis, Aida?

Screening of the winning film of the European Parliament's LUX Audience Award with film discussion

Cinema fans from and around Stuttgart have the unique opportunity to see this year's winning film of the LUX-Audience Award of the European Parliament "Quo vadis, Aida?" free of charge.

"Quo Vadis, Aida?" is a gripping film that tells of the horrors of war with a contemporary dimension. The story takes place in July 1995 in Bosnia, where Aida works as a translator for the United Nations in the small town of Srebrenica. As an insider in the negotiations, Aida has access to critical information that she needs to translate. What fate awaits her family and her people? What step should she take?

After the film screening, you will have the opportunity to discuss the film with camerawoman Christine A. Maier and the Vice President of the European Parliament Rainer Wieland, why the EU did not intervene in Srebrenica, what lessons were learned and what role the political film plays. The discussion will be lead by TV presenter Markus Brock.

For the second time, the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Agency (Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart), in cooperation with the European Parliament Liaison Office in Munich, is organizing the screening of the film that won the European Parliament Audience Award. The association Haus für Film und Medien Stuttgart e.V. is a media partner.
